We were invited to show our Cooper Mk X at this years Motorama by Ralph Hill Ralph is a good friend who helped us restore the Cooper and he works as a software developer at Pixar.
We arrived bright and early to set up and were promptly placed at the center of the main entrance of Pixar with all the featured cars. Jay Leno's new Dodge Challenger,Pre-Production ZR1 Vette, A 1940's Peugoet Hard Top convertible, the Ford 49 show car, John Lasseter's Studebaker Special, a Budda sporting rat rod. and A Moal Built Zephyr special. The Weather could not have been more perfect.
We also got to meet Jay Shuster, who design the Star Wars pod racers, many characters in Cars, and Wall-E and Eve from Wall-E. Jay was great to chat with and ended up spending most of the day sketching our car and chatting with us. His sketch is below.
This is a great fun event, very family friendly and it really makes me jealous of the design team at Pixar. There are a really diverse car lineup from a riot control truck from the FBI, to a K car!!!
